How Pawsome Came to Life
The Spark of an Idea
Founder Mia Thompson, a lifelong animal lover, noticed a gap in the market for pet supplies that were both high-quality and delightfully fun. While volunteering at a local shelter, she sketched the first Pawsome logo on a napkin — a paw print inside a bursting star.
First Online Shop Opens
Working from her garage with a laptop and endless enthusiasm, Mia launched the Pawsome online store. The first product? A rainbow-striped squeaky toy called "The Confetti Bone." It sold out in three days, and the Pawsome community was born.
Brick & Mortar Dream
With overwhelming support from 12,000+ customers, Pawsome opened its first physical location in Portland, Oregon. The store featured a play area, a treat-tasting bar, and the now-famous "Wheel of Wags" where every pet gets a free sample.
Pawsome Gives Back
We launched the Pawsome Promise: for every $50 spent, we donate a meal to a shelter animal. To date, we've provided over 180,000 meals and funded adoption fees for more than 600 rescue pets across the country.
Three Stores & Counting
Today, Pawsome has three locations, a team of 28 passionate pet lovers, and a product line of over 400 items — all designed to bring a splash of color and a burst of joy to pets and their humans everywhere.
